We’ve been looking forward to this event for months now, and it did not disappoint.  The party was attended by fashion models, celebrities, sports stars and entertainers of all stripes and provided an opportunity to showcase the product for a great number of beautiful women who would benefit from wearing a Kush Support at night, in particular the large number of women who have had breast implants.

The night was hosted on the grounds of the Playboy mansion, and the Kush team had access to the Game Room, Zoo, Grotto Pool and a private tour of the property conducted by Miss July 2005, Qiana Chase. Ms. Chase was captured here posing for a photo while holding her Kush Support.

This 3rd Annual charity event included a live and silent auction where Kush Support gift baskets were distributed to the exuberant audience.  We want to thank our friend Robert Ryan who shared this shot of his model friend Pam Rodriguez in front of the Kush silent auction display.

There was also a car show put on by Concorso Exotica where Lambourghinis outnumbered the Ferraris unfortunately.

In the coming weeks, keep an eye out for the celebrity photos as they walked the red carpet and the Kush logo appeared on the backdrop, such as in this shot of Shane West.

The Hostess this year was non other than the Baywatch star Traci Bingham who made sure that she talked up the Kush Support throughout her night walking the “pink carpet” and mingling with guests.  Here she is with Cathinka posing in the cabana.

After all the fun, product demonstrations and revelry, the fact that a substantial impact can be made on behalf of the charity organization affiliated with Hot Summer Nights at The Playboy Mansion, The United Breast Cancer Foundation.  The Foundation is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those afflicted with breast cancer as well as those families affected by breast cancer. The United Breast Cancer Foundation financially supports a variety of programs dedicated to breast cancer screening and prevention, treatment and patient health and well-being.

Lisa can be seen in our promotional videos talking about the initial challenges following her breast augmentation procedure, and the unexpected consequences of pain and discomfort as a result.  As is the case with any procedure in which there are muscular changes, pain during recovery as well as long term can result.  Lisa experienced ongoing sleep issues because she was unable to find a comfortable position at night.

Her sleep deprivation was also exacerbated by a car accident that left her with back and shoulder pains.

After pinpointing that her discomfort at night was caused by the changes in her body after her breast implants, Lisa went on a discovery process in which she was looking for something that would be considered a “cushion” or a bra, that might help keep proper position while resting.

She came across the Kush Support web site doing an online search and purchased one, with the perception of “i’ll try anything”. Even after receiving her delivery she still had an apprehension about the effectiveness of the product … which is a common challenge that we have from a marketing perspective.  We are trying to put the message forth that the more people we get to try the product and discover for themselves the more people who will realize the benefits.  We believe that many people live with the discomfort that comes from breast augmentation procedures and don’t fully realize that it can be resolved.

A great point that Lisa makes is about her attempts at finding a home remedy using various household items like towels, socks etc.. Many times in chat rooms and forums these are put forth as options, however Lisa has discovered that they do not stay in place and will not last for the length of time needed to overcome the discomfort.  Her Kush Support continues to provide relief.

We have added a new model to the Kush Supports team and we were able to capture some fantastic photography that really sets a tone that will communicate comfort and support to the particular demographic of women who have undergone breast augmentation surgery.

We are working on the overall creative platform trying to bring in some subtle changes to help shape the marketing of the product.  We want to soften the presentation across the board from photography, copy, and all graphic elements in almost imperceptible ways …. but will help communicate the ‘feminine” personality of the product.  Blurring the edges of transitions in graphic elements, by adding fabrics in the background of videos, and having more curved shapes in the materials demonstrates comfort and support, reflecting the product attributes.

Finally, we are working towards bringing a little “drama” into the videos with the use of deeper shadows and lighting control to achieve the “night time” effect.

To finish up this week’s program, we are pleased to announce that The Kush Report Podcast is now available via the ITunes Store and can be subscribed for automatic download and synched to portable MP3 players.

Cathinka in the meantime has continued her adventurous ways with a trip out to the middle fork of The Salmon River for a fishing, rafting, and camping experience. She and her husband Jim started out with a stay at the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch prior to heading out on the river with Jerry Hughes River Expeditions.

Although the fishing was excellent with rainbow trout on the line, the expedition follows catch & release practices, so the food travels with the raft guides (except for the exceptional wines Jim had flown in!).  Since Cathinka follows a Dietary Engineering regimen outlined by Sari Mellman in Miami Florida she had some special food prepared around the campfire at night.

On their way to the put in, a small engine plane flight had nervous flyer Cathinka reaching for Jim’s hand as well as her newest friend Ralph in the seat beside her.  However, the most calming aspect of the flight was when she looked out the window and saw a Rainbow just for her!

Big Sky Country lived up to its nickname, especially at night as the stars were out in full force without the light pollution found in other areas of the country.

From a business perspective, having these types of adventures is rejuvenating for Cathinka where getting away from the phones, emails, and typical distraction helps her to fully focusing on the day to day aspects of running a company upon her return to the office.

Next trip hopefully … The Colorado River!

Some big news happened during our little hiatus regarding a promotion for Kush Supports and an invitation to be included an Emmy Award Gift Bags distributed on September 18th and 19th!

A new bag and insert was prepared so that the celebrities who receive the gift bag will equate the Kush Support with sleep comfort and breast support, particularly for augmented women. This dream opportunity is a perfect placement for introducing the product to the particular target demographic of women who have had breast augmentation.

Also, a trade show appearance at The Southern Women’s Show in Charlotte is scheduled for September 18th through the 21st.

Finally this week, we are trying to increase the marketing assets that we have in the files so a photoshoot with a new Kush model is taking place and will include video and still shots set in softly lit, bedroom settings.  We will also be speaking with an actual Kush user so that we can capture testimonial video particularly about the pain relief that she experienced after she started using a Kush.

Also, a look ahead to the Curve Expo in New York City August 3rd – 5th.
